FAQs

  • Why is Half Day the best CBD topical?

Half Day CBD topicals are formulated and manufactured in house--no white labeling. This means that we tightly control the sources of our ingredients—for a completely natural, premium product. The Half Day CBD salve is made from organic CBD oil and a mix of other botanical oils. We test every batch to ensure safety, quality and potency.

  • What are CBD topicals?

CBD topicals are any skin or hair care products that contain CBD and are designed to offer the benefits of CBD topically (vs. via ingestion). The most common types of CBD topicals are balms/salves, creams/lotions and oils/serums.

  • Are CBD topicals legal?

CBD topicals are legal, and in fact, many large retailers are beginning to carry topical CBD products. That's because the Farm Bill was signed into law in December 2018, and it legalized CBD derived from hemp, as long as it contains no more than 0.3% THC. Half Day CBD topicals comply with this regulation, all containing less than 0.3% THC. Every batch is third-party lab-tested to ensure safety and potency.

  • Will CBD topicals get me high?

CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it won't get you high. It is important to note than our full-spectrum products, including our CBD topicals, contain trace amounts of THC—up to .3%.

  • CBD edibles vs. topicals?

If you're wondering what type of CBD you should use, edibles or topicals, there are a few key differences to consider. Topicals are ideal for localized issues for which you want immediate relief (sore muscles and joints, for example). Because they're applied topically, they typically contain other soothing or moisturizing ingredients that can benefit your skin. CBD edibles on the other hand do not offer localized relief, but rather offer a more holistic effect. Edibles also take much longer to work—typically between 30 minutes and 2 hours to feel the full effects.

  • Will I get fast delivery on my CBD topicals?

We handle all of our shipping in house, and strive for a 24-hour fulfillment window. This means that most of our customers receive their orders within 2-4 days, if not sooner.

  • Will CBD topicals cause a positive drug test?

The federal government has stipulated than hemp and CBD products are legal as long as they contain less than .3% THC. This is considered a trace amount of THC; however, depending on how much CBD you use there is always a chance for a positive drug test, however small. If you are concerned about using products with trace amounts of THC, CBD isolate oil or edibles may be the best options. The CBD isolate than we use is lab-tested at 0% THC. But as a final disclaimer: some drug tests may not be sophisticated enough to differentiate between cannabinoids. This means than there is a risk—however small—of failing a drug test when using any hemp-derived products. However, Congress recently approved a measure allowing CBD use by military service members, and many other private industries, companies and governing bodies are following suit. If you're concerned about failing a drug test, we suggest you discuss CBD usage with your employer or other party responsible for testing prior to using CBD products.

  • Can I bring CBD topicals on a plane?

In 2019, TSA updated its policy to allow CBD products "as long as it is produced within the regulations defined by the law" under the 2018 Farm Bill. The main regulation here is that is that CBD products must be derived from hemp and contain less than .3% THC. All of Half Day's products, including CBD topicals, are compliant with these regulations and therefore legal and allowed by TSA.
