FAQs

  • Why use extra-strength CBD products?

For those new to CBD, we recommend starting out with a smaller does to see how CBD affects them—usually around 25mg is a good place to start. But for some with specific needs or higher tolerances may benefit from a stronger product. And depending on what you're using CBD for, you may benefit from a higher dosage. If you are thinking about starting a CBD regimine for a specific condition, it's best to discuss this with your doctor first.

  • How does CBD work?

All CBD products work by affecting the body's endocannabinoid system (yup, that's a real thing!) which experts believe may be responsible for regulating various cognitive and physiological responses, including immune response, nervous system, sensation, mood and more. When you ingest CBD products, they work by entering your bloodstream--either directly through the blood vessels (as with sublingual tincture application or via inhalation) or via processing through the digestive system (as with edibles). With topicals on the other hand, the CBD binds to cell receptors in your skin, muscle and nerves.

  • Is CBD legal?

Thanks to the Farm Bill (signed into law in December 2018) CBD is federally legal, as long as it is derived from hemp and contains no more than 0.3% THC. Half Day CBD oils, topicals, flower and gummies comply with this regulation, all containing less than 0.3% THC. Every batch is third-party lab-tested to ensure safety and potency.

  • Will CBD get me high?

CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it won't get you high. It is important to note than our full-spectrum products, including our CBD oils, topicals and flower contain trace amounts of THC—up to .3%.

  • Will CBD show up on a drug test?

The federal government has stipulated than hemp and CBD products are legal as long as they contain less than .3% THC. This is considered a trace amount of THC; however, depending on how much CBD you use there is always a chance for a positive drug test, however small. If you are concerned about using products with trace amounts of THC, CBD isolate oil or edibles may be the best options. The CBD isolate that we use is lab-tested at 0% THC. But as a final disclaimer: some drug tests may not be sophisticated enough to differentiate between cannabinoids. This means that there is a risk—however small—of failing a drug test when using any hemp-derived products. However, Congress recently approved a measure allowing CBD use by military service members, and many other private industries, companies and governing bodies are following suit. If you're concerned about failing a drug test, we suggest you discuss CBD usage with your employer or other party responsible for testing prior to using CBD products.
